Five Story Mixed Use Housing
2747 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley
The Project features 39 units of varying sizes. the first floor has two live work units which are divisible into four, a cafe space and access to the parking area. Originally designed and entitled in 2007, the project was the first LEED Certified privately funded condominium project. The building features two courtyards designed as pollinator gardens as well as a stepped down rear garden area and roof top plated areas. The building steps down to the residential units in the back and provides private and public balconies looking east.
After 10 years, the project was purchased and completed with major design changes by a new developer. The original design team of Margaret and Evan with Tom Dolan Architects (as the architect of record) was retained by the new developer under limited scope, with multiple design elements built as approved.
